Transvulcania Naviera Armas 2017 and the hotel group H10 Hotels have reached an agreement so that the H10 Taburiente Playa becomes the main sponsor of the Marathon and the official hotel of the event. This way, H10 reinforces its commitment with this mountain race, to which the company has shown its support since 2013 through different initiatives.
The signing of the collaboration agreement, held at the H10 Taburiente Playa, was attended by the Sports Counsellor of the La Palma Island Council, Ascensión Rodríguez, and the hotel’s Director, Francisco González.
The Marathon broke its registration record in the last December and, in response to the high demand of athletes, the Organization decided to enable 200 new places to the 600 that were initially offered. The additional places were filled in less than a month.
The Marathon will start the next May 13th, at 10:00 am, from the recreational area of Refugio del Pilar (1.450 metres above the sea level), passing by the path of Gran Recorrido GR 131 – Ruta del Bastón, to Puerto de Tazacorte, next to the beach, where the finish line will be located. This distance will have a cumulative elevation gain of 1.884 metres and a cumulative elevation loss of 3.329 metres.
